Warts are a viral infection and are considered one of the most commonly transmitted diseases. Between 50 and 70 percent of sexually active individuals are estimated to be affected by HPV at some point in their lifetime.

HPV viruses 16,18,31,33,35,39,45,51,52,56,58,59 and 68 are considered high risk and are responsible for various malformations and mainly cervical cancer, while the viruses that are considered low risk and are mainly responsible for warts are HPV 6, 11, 42, 43 and 44.

Although warts can be removed from the affected area, the HPV virus can remain in the body as when it creates the infection in the cells, it remains there, without being able to leave them.

The diagnosis of warts is mainly clinical and Episcopal and should be carried out by an experienced dermatologist in order to suggest the appropriate method for the treatment of the affected area.

Depending on the number and size of the lesions, treatment of warts with topical creams or destructive methods, such as cryotherapy or CO2 Laser, is chosen.

Specifically, we can treat warts with Laser CO2 to have very high success rates in a single visit. Laser wart treatment selectively targets only existing warts leaving intact the surrounding healthy skin and is characterized by absence of postoperative pain and scars, while the aesthetic result is excellent.
