Acne is an inflammation of the trichosmegic units of specific areas of the body and can be comedogenic, papulophlyctenous or confluent (nodiocystic) acne. Acne is due to 4 main factors:

  • Obstruction of the pores of the skin
  • Increased production of sebum from the skin (seborrhea)
  • Presence of inflammation
  • Increased presence of bacteria

It occurs mainly in adolescence, but also later as post-pubic acne. Special mention is made in the heyday of the adult woman. This is the appearance of acne in women after the age of 20, which either first appears at this age or continues from adolescence. Factors of the occurrence of this type of acne are considered modern lifestyle, stress, the use of many and incorrect cosmetics, smoking and hormonal disorders.

General principles of acne treatment

Treatment of acne should always be carried out after a detailed examination of the patient and his history and be absolutely personalized. In women, the frequency of menstruation, the degree of hair growth, as well as the use of cosmetic products should be regularly discussed. The patient’s compliance with each treatment regimen is a key success factor. It usually takes 8-10 weeks to assess effectiveness. The duration of most oral treatments is at least 3-6 months.

The following treatments are recommended as monotherapy or combination depending on the severity and extent of the problem:

  • Topical treatments (creams)
  • Oral treatments (antibiotics, isotretinin) or combination with creams
  • Personalized use of dermocosmetics
  • Medical facial cleansing
  • Chemical peelings
  • Microdermabrasion
  • Skin Regeneration with the special Fractional Laser Edge One
  • Photodynamic LED therapy (mainly three wavelengths: blue, red, infrared)
